Our Founder’s Story: From Hair Loss to Restoration

There was a time when I didn’t recognize my own hair.

I was experiencing thinning, shedding, and breakage, and after searching for answers, I learned it was connected to DHT-related hair loss. Like many women, I felt frustrated, confused, and honestly… discouraged.

As a Black woman, hair is more than appearance, it’s identity, culture, and confidence. And watching it thin felt like losing a part of myself.

So I made a decision.

Instead of chasing every trending product, I went back to what I already knew.

Going Back to My Roots, I thought about my mother.

She grew her locs past her waist using simple, consistent care, natural oils, herbal blends, and patience. No shortcuts. No gimmicks.

That wisdom stayed with me.

So I started blending my own oils.
Infusing herbs.
Learning what actually supports healthy hair growth, scalp health, and retention.

And over time, I saw a difference.

Not overnight — but consistently.

My hair became stronger. Healthier. Fuller.
I wasn’t just growing hair, I was finally able to retain length.

 

Starting Over — The Big Chop

At one point, I made the decision to do a big chop.

It wasn’t easy. But it was necessary.

That moment became the beginning of something bigger, not just for my hair, but for my purpose.

I committed to rebuilding my hair the right way, and documenting the journey honestly.
